Great idea!

Me: "Ashlan, it's time to go bathe. Do you want to take a shower or bath tonight?"

Ashlan: "I want to take a bath. A CHOCOLATE bath!"

**Yes, this just proves she IS my child. The Morgan girls LOVE chocolate!**

No, the below picture is not me....but it is someone lucky enough to indulge in a chocolate bath!

Costume

It's that time of year again! Halloween costumes!

Ashlan had a very difficult time this year trying to decide whether she wanted to be the Statue of Liberty or Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer for Halloween. I thought both of her choices were great (and unique), so whichever one she decided on was bound to be great!

Well, she finally made up her mind and the costume came in the mail this past week!
Can you guess what she picked..................(scroll down)

Yes, Ashlan will be Rudolph for Halloween! She looks adorable as Rudolph! We still need to buy the red blinking nose....but till then, red lipstick works just as good!

Hope you are as excited about Halloween as we are!

P.S. Kate has yet to decide what to be for Halloween!

Show Time!

Ashlan is definitely taking after her Aunt Traci's love for acting. Ashlan just recently auditioned for the children's musical of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.

She has been cast as one of the forest animals....a bird! She sings, dances, and acts! She has rehearsal three times a week which has been taking up lots of our time, but Ashlan is really enjoying it. All the actors/actresses are ages 5-17. Ashlan is the second to youngest in the play. And she makes for one cute little blue bird!

Show goes up November 13th, 14th, and 15th!

Pineapples and Cheese, Together?

My friend, Jaime, mentioned she was making a special dish of Baked Pineapples and Cheese. I love pineapples and cheese, but put them together and I'm not so sure. But she raved about the dish, so I decided to try it! Boy am I glad I did! Delicious! I had to share it with ya'll!

Baked Pineapples and Cheese (Compliments to Jaime's Gran-C)

20 oz. can pineapple chunks
1/2 c sugar
1 c sharp cheddar shredded
3 T flour
1/2 c butter
1 c ritz crackers crumbled

Drain all but 3T of pineapple juice from can.
Combine sugar, flour & pineapple juice.

Add the cheese & pineapple chunks. Mix well.
Spoon the mixture into a casserole dish (small square one)

... melt the butter & add cracker crumbs.
Cover the top of your pineapples w/ the buttery crackers.

Stop drooling! Your not finished yet. :)

Bake 350 for 20-30 mins. until golden brown & ENJOY!

Try it! You won't be disappointed! Thanks for sharing this with me, Jaime!

It's THAT season!

All of my closest friends know why I LOVE this time of year! And it doesn't have anything to do with cooler weather or pumpkin patches.... It's because it is CANDY CORN SEASON!
My neighbor has already treated me to a Candy Corn Basket!

Don't I have FANTASTIC friends!

Okay, so I know a few people that gag at the thought of candy corn. But not me. I could eat an entire bag everyday. And I've passed this love of candy corn onto Ashlan. She shares that bag with me, everyday! Yes, I always gain 5 lbs during this season. It's worth it!

Anyways, my friend Karen sent me this recipe and I wanted to share it with everyone!

Candy Corn Popcorn
7 oz marshmallow cream
1/2 cup peanut butter
8 cups air-popped popcorn
1 cup candy corn

Combine marshmallow cream and PB in large bowl; mix until smooth.
Stir in popcorn and candy corn and mix until coated evenly.
Drop by heaping spoonfuls onto waxed paper or nonstick surface and allow to cool.
Store in an airtight container.

I Looooooove Candy Corn!

Kindergarten Update

We've entered our 4th week of Kindergarten. Ashlan seems to be thriving in the classroom and has really enjoyed meeting new friends! Let me tell you - the kids in her class are just precious! I get to see them occasionally when I am volunteering at the school......Such little personalities and a joy to be around...

We have been very blessed with a wonderful school right here in our neighborhood (within walking distance), a fantastic teacher for Ashlan, and the opportunity for Ashlan to meet so many new friends. It's an exciting time for all of us!

Cheers to a great year ahead!

School Bus Obsession

Ashlan: "Mommy, I really want to ride the bus to school everyday...Pleeeeeeeeease!"

Me: "Ashlan, we live too close to the school. So close that we can walk. Therefore, there isn't a school bus route through our neighborhood for your school."

Ashlan: "Then can we ask Daddy if we can move?"

You won't believe this!

Before you read any further, please refer back to this post

Okay, so you are well aware now that Ashlan lost her FIRST tooth at school last week. We never found the tooth. I figured it was in her stomach.

Fast forward a week and I find an email in my inbox from Ashlan's teacher. Basically the email said, "I have a funny story for you, Please call me when you have a chance!" So I call the teacher and she tells me, "We found a tooth on the floor today in our class, I think it is Ashlan's!" REALLY?!?! REALLY?!?! You mean a whole week has gone by and the tooth has been on the floor the entire time? She asks me how she should handle getting the tooth to me since she wasn't sure what I had already told Ashlan the week prior about her missing tooth and the tooth fairy. Well, I had told Ashlan that even though we didn't have a tooth to put under her pillow for the tooth fairy, the fairy would STILL come and leave a surprise. I made sure that Ashlan understood the tooth fairy would make sure she found Ashlan's tooth...we may not know how, when, and where she finds her tooth...but that she would.
Ashlan understood and was okay with that.

Sooooooo, when the teacher asked me how to handle getting the tooth to me I told her not to mention the tooth to Ashlan. Instead, just put the tooth in an envelope and slip it into Ashlan's folder when she's not looking. And that's exactly what she did. This is what I pulled out of Ashlan's folder. I love how her teacher labeled the envelope 'The Good's'.

And sure enough, inside was Ashlan's FIRST tooth she lost!

Can you believe that tooth remained on the floor in the classroom for a week. One response the teacher said to me, which I thought was HILARIOUS was, "Well, I guess the custodians are not vacuuming my room very well!"

So, here we are....a week after Ashlan's loses her first tooth. I finally have that first tooth in my hands now! I am a very happy mommy. Of course, Ashlan has no clue the tooth was found. What a great story this will be to share with Ashlan when she is older!

Creative Lunches

I have had numerous conversations with friends about creative lunch ideas for our Kindergartener's. The usual turkey sandwich gets old. We need to come up with different options for lunches.

Tip Junkie is one of my favorite websites. And this week they are doing a post on Creative Lunch Ideas. For those of you in need of those ideas, click here
